Audio and microphone access

Timecode Compare analyses incoming audio signals (LTC, Linear Timecode) from the audio input device you select. That is why macOS asks for microphone and audio-input permission.

• Audio is processed in memory, in real time, solely to decode timecode values.
• Audio is never recorded, stored or transmitted. No audio ever leaves your Mac.
• Revoking the permission (System Settings → Privacy & Security → Microphone) stops all audio analysis.

Local files

At your request, the app can write session log files (CSV) containing decoded timecode values, offsets and drift measurements. These files:

• are stored locally on your Mac, in the app's own container,
• contain no personal information, only timecode readings and measurement values,
• stay fully under your control: you can view, export or delete them at any time (File menu → Reveal Logs in Finder).

Purchases

The optional Pro upgrade is processed entirely by Apple through the Mac App Store (StoreKit). I never receive or store payment information, names or addresses. How Apple handles your purchase data is described in Apple's Privacy Policy.

For the App Store privacy label, this app truthfully declares Data Not Collected.

Children's privacy

The app collects no data from anyone, including children.

Contacting support

If you email info@softsowa.com, I receive the data you send (your email address and whatever your message contains) and use it solely to handle your request (legal basis: Art. 6(1)(b) and (f) GDPR). Support emails are deleted once the request is resolved and no legal retention duty applies.

This website

This website sets no cookies and uses no analytics or tracking. It is hosted in Germany by ALL-INKL.COM (Neue Medien Münnich GmbH). The hosting provider may keep standard technical server logs (such as the requesting IP address) for a short, limited period to keep the service secure and stable. Legal basis: Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR: the legitimate interest in operating this site securely.

Your rights

Under the GDPR you have the right to access, rectify and erase personal data concerning you, to restrict its processing, to data portability, and to object to processing based on legitimate interest (Art. 15–21 GDPR). Since the app collects no data at all, in practice these rights can only relate to support emails and the hosting provider's server logs. You also have the right to lodge a complaint with a data protection supervisory authority (Art. 77 GDPR).

Changes to this policy

If a future version of the app changes any of the above (for example, by adding an online feature), this policy will be updated before that version is released, and the app's App Store privacy label will be updated accordingly.
